Yes, what is it? Well the profession of the telephone operator is no news to this world. Already decades ago people tried to connect with each other through phone calls and a profession called “Telephone Operator” was born. The technical capabilities were extremely limited and as you can see in the picture below life was pretty complicated. It took a while before organizations started to add their own switchboards and receptions to take advantage of having a technology that helped them manage their inbound call traffic. 

Web Real-Time Communication or in other words WebRTC is an open standard based on HTML5 and JavaScript. This standard enables users to communicate in real-time through a web-browser or a mobile app. Well, that doesn’t sound like rocket science, yet. The real value-add lies within the fact that WebRTC is an open standard. WebRTC enables many different ways of communicating and collaborating including voice, video, data transfers and even screen-sharing. The open architecture allows developers from around the globe to take advantage of existing APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) and come up with new stuff in the periphery of Unified Communications.

I am excited to announce the official launch of our attendant solution talkbase. Talkbase, formerly known as Artus, is a project that has been initiated by FROX late 2014 and represents the newest member to our family of business communication products. Talkbase is also the outcome of strategic exercise to reposition a division of our business for the future of UCC communication tools.
